Pre-school Application

Little Bean started Preschool today. She didn't cry plus it took some coaxing to get her to say goodbye. Actually, once she was in the classroom, I think she forgot that I even existed. So, I stuck around a little longer than the teachers wanted. I guess if she cried or clung to me a little, it would of been easier for me to leave at a more reasonable time. Oh well, there is always next year.

Here are some questions from her application, the questions are real, the answers are not... well, for most of them.

Child's Name:
(Little Bean)
Name you call her:
Bean
What she likes to be called:
"Your highness", Princess, Queen

Any problems with eating:
Not unless you count throwing food
Food allergies or restrictions:
She will not eat anything without cheese, yogurt or sour cream and the promise of ice cream.
Is your child toilet trained:
Yes and that is about it.
Words she uses for toileting: "
potty", "uh-oh"

In what particular ways can you we help your child?:
Teach her to listen to her parents ... actually, there really isn't enough space here to answer that question. However, she really is a good kid. Really.

Are you working on skills at home?:
Yes, coloring inside the lines on the wall paper, cutting straight lines in the curtains, writing her name with crayons on the furniture and saying things to push my husband's buttons.

Is there anything else you want us to know about your child?:
She already thinks she knows everything like cooking(oh, thats another post), how to use the computer, what is good and bad for your health...etc. So... good luck!

Nut Free school? Save Mr. Peanut!

Just read a letter from Daughter #1's school
..." requesting that no peanuts/nut products be brought to school buildings or grounds...." This includes school related activities, events, concerts...etc.

I guess that means I have to go back to packing or helping my daughter in figuring out her lunch.
Boo-Hoo!
What does a vegetarian (including no eggs, and various processed food ingredients) child eat? I guess I should be glad she is not a vegan, or a child who will only eat peanut butter sandwiches. I wonder how those parents of PB&J kid(s) broke the news? My heart goes out to those parents. Personally, I'm a little frustrated. Believe me, I do understand securing the safety of our children who have fatal allergies. However, I just wonder, what next? Why do I feel like our rights are being violated? Its a feeling I just can't put my finger on, but I will adjust and protect the rights of the children with peanut allergies. For now.

The reason I am really belly aching?
We no longer have the quick safety net of slapping a peanut butter sandwich together when she should of been out the door 10 minutes earlier. Now I have to make sure hummus, refried beans and other vegetarian and no nut sandwich spreads are ready to go. Did I mentions, her school lunches don't have a vegetarian option? (How rude!) So, hot lunch is not an option.

Anyway....
Hello!
I know I have been gone for a while, but now summer vacation is coming to a close, I will be around more often....hopefully.
